‘A Sound Map of Brighton’ is a project by music producer and musician Finn Bowden where the sounds and music of Brighton are being recorded and edited to create an album, with each track using environmental sounds to pinpoint a specific location within the city.

Over the course of the project, Finn Bowden will be compiling field recordings using a Rode NTG2 shotgun microphone and Zoom H4n recorder in order to capture the sounds and ambience of the sea-side city. After residing in Brighton for almost three years, Finn Bowden wants to give listeners and observers of his project an insight into his personal relationship and experience with the city. Also, with the free release of the sounds and samples used to create the album in a downloadable sample pack, individuals will be able to create their own compositions and versions of the ‘Brighton Sound’.
